(SinoCast via COMTEX) --US-based Amway Corp., a world's leader in multilevel marketing, confirms that its subsidiary in China has formally applied to the Ministry of Commerce of China for a license of direct selling.Insiders at Amway China reveal that the company has over 7,000 outlets in near 2,000 counties and cities around China and the preparation for the direct selling has finished. Gan Chee Eng, vice president of Amway China, previously released that the company just hoped to get the license before the end of November 2006.According to the requirements of MOC, Amway and other nine foreign companies that should transform their business model in China are allowed to continue their traditional business model before December 1, 2006.Ahead of Amway China, there are a few foreign companies have submitted their applications for direct selling licenses to MOC but the ministry just granted one to Avon China by far.From Jinghua Times, Page 1, Thursday, April 06, 2006info@SinoCast.Com
