START A NEW HOBBY DURING NATIONAL SCRAPBOOKING MONTH WITH TOP 10 TIPS
PLEASANT GROVE, UT – May 1, 2006 – Scrapbooking is one of the fastest-growing segments of the crafts industry. According to the Craft & Hobby Association scrapbooking is enjoyed by 25 million people and brings in over $2.5 billion a year. The hobby has become so popular that May was declared National Scrapbooking Month and May 6 is National Scrapbooking Day. To celebrate, Close To My Heart, a leader in the direct sales scrapbook industry, will give away one scrapbook kit daily during the month and one grand prize scrapbook starter kit worth over $250. The Get Started Scrapbooking Sweepstakes can be entered on the company website by going to www.closetomyheart.com.
Getting started in scrapbooking is often overwhelming to beginners. Close To My Heart Consultants offered the following tips to help beginners start celebrating relationships through the art of scrapbooking.
1) SIZE MATTERS: Decide what size scrapbook you would like to create. The most common are 12” x 12”. Smaller sizes are also becoming more popular, especially for making themed albums for special occasions, vacations, holidays, and more. Smaller albums are often found in 9” x 9”, 6” x 6”, and 3”x 3” sizes.
2) ORGANIZE PHOTOS: There are many ways to organize your album and photos, so find a system that works for you. A common approach is to store them in an acid-free box with categorized divider tabs. Another popular option is to group the photos you plan to scrapbook together and then store them in page protectors, making them easy to access when you have time to scrapbook. Using a photo-safe pen, write the date and other pertinent details on the back of your photos as soon as you get them. If you don’t have dates on the photos you have collected over the years, consider organizing them by theme or topic. Be selective about which photographs you choose to scrapbook, and pick favorites that ignite an emotion or have a compelling story behind them. The following are different organization methods to consider as you create each album. You may find yourself combining different approaches to get your message across effectively.
Chronological – Scrapbook the events of your life in order of occurrence.
Topical – Organize your album by topic including holidays, vacations, family members, etc.—those things that are most important and relevant to you.
Thematic – As you organize your thoughts and photos, is there one event or theme that stands out? This can be captured in a single album, emphasizing a meaningful part of life.
3) BASIC PRODUCTS: Stock up on basic supplies to get started including a ruler, a paper cutter, scissors, adhesives, cardstock, pens, markers, and page protectors. Be sure to use archival-quality products that are acid- and lignin-free to prolong the lifespan of your scrapbook to more than 200 years.
4) CHOOSE A THEME AND ESTABLISH A FOCAL POINT: Choose a theme, mood, or topic idea for your page. Having a particular concept in mind will help when you are coming up with the title, journaling, and layout. Your photos should be the stars of the layout—establishing a focal point will help those looking at your scrapbook know where to begin. Consider having favorite photos developed in a larger size or add matting behind the photo to help draw attention to your focal point.
5) SELECT A COLOR SCHEME: Pick a color out of your photo that you would like to “pull out” by choosing papers and cardstock that match or compliment that color. Generally 2–3 color combinations will help enhance your photograph. Have fun with it and step outside your comfort zone by trying colors you wouldn’t normally use.
6) WRITE JOURNAL ENTRY: Include a journal entry with each page. Use the “4 W Plus” system to get started: Who is in the picture? When did it happen? Where is it taken? What is happening? The “Plus” includes: How were you feeling at the time? Why was it important to you or those in the picture? Include things that someone just looking at the photo wouldn’t know. You may also consider including quotes or poetry that capture your thoughts on the topic.
7) COME UP WITH A PLAN: Sketch a template plan for your layout prior to adhering items to the page. Borrow ideas from scrapbook magazines, friends, and other resources. Close To My Heart Founder and CEO, Jeanette Lynton, recently released Cherish, a book with 50 two-page layout concepts that can be mixed and matched for endless possibilities. Look to non-traditional resources like a favorite shirt or store window display for inspiration.
8) EMBELLISH: Finish pages with special added embellishments like rubber stamps, stickers, ribbon, and other scrapbooking accessories. Use memorabilia to accent or embellish your page by including ticket stubs, brochures, maps, postcards, etc.
9) HAVE FUN: Make small, manageable goals. When you complete a page, remember that it’s one more page than you had yesterday. Don’t think about all the photos you would like to scrapbook or you might get overwhelmed; start with recent photos and work backwards. Scrapbooking is a fun and rewarding hobby that should never feel like a chore or a stress. Make projects one-of-a-kind, and don’t worry about mistakes—just get started.
10) USE A CONSULTANT: Close To My Heart has thousands of Consultants around the U.S. and Canada that can show you and your friends how to celebrate relationships through the art of scrapbooking, with a fast, simple, and easy approach in the comfort of your own home. Keeping You Informed About BioPerformance
The following is a memo from BioPerformance today:
The Media
Don't expect a love fest with reporters anytime soon. It's a sad state of affairs, but true: negative news is easier to report. But as the media wears itself out on the negative, we expect a few reporters to begin asking positive questions: "Suppose these pills really work? Who would want to oppose that? Is there any company or agency who, knowing BioPerformance is effective, would continue to persecute the company? And if so, why?" We are the beginning of a revolution of conservation for fossil fuels! We are participating in breaking the addiction America has to oil!
Customer Service
We are proud of BioPerformance Customer Service which operates on a Fortune 500 model.
Communications to the Customer Service Help Desk are assigned a "ticket" so as to track the service requested and supplied. Since moving to this new Customer Service platform, we have processed more than 18,000 requests.
Cancellations, Refunds
We are deeply concerned about the hardship many of you have suffered,
- initially to our TREMENDOUS GROWTH which overwhelmed our manufacturers ability to produce product and therefore they had to enlarge their plant to increase production, and
- since then as the result of the TRO in the State of Texas.
Many of our seasoned MLM professionals have called to say they know: the greatest opportunity lies ahead, and they are staying the course for the even greater rewards. Nevertheless, IBOs who cannot or do not want to continue may cancel participation in the sales program at any time upon written, signed notice to BioPerformance. Cancellations cannot be accepted via e-mail, due to the potential for fraud. Upon notification or termination, the sponsoring IBO or BioPerformance will repurchase the unused and currently marketable inventory and sales aids purchased from BioPerformance within 30 days (or longer where required by State law) from the date of receipt of merchandise first ordered, at 90% of the IBO's net cost, less appropriate set-offs and legal claims. The term of the company IBO agreement is renewed every 90 days by the IBO buying or selling $150 BV (Business Volume). An IBO is renewed every 90 days on enrollment date if $150 BV (average of $50 BV per month) has been personally purchased or sold. All non-renewals will become INACTIVE and deleted if 90 days anniversary renewal is not met. All other requirements rehearsed in your back office apply. Requests for refund or cancellation should be sent via certified delivery to:
BioPerformance, Inc.
1300 West Walnut Hill Lane
Suite 100, Irving, TX 75038.
Rumors and Rumor Mongering
When Mark Twain read his own obituary misreported in in a daily newspaper, he quipped: "News of my death has been greatly exaggerated."So it is with BioPerformance: the rumors reported to us by our loyal IBOs are the stuff fiction is made of, not fact. One of the most comical denigrates our marketing channel, insinuating that if such an innovation as we have were found, it would be by a major chemical company. But BioPerformance isn't the first instance of a direct selling company that has had major impact on a single market. A few examples:
Shaklee helped popularize the importance of "biodegradable" detergents and a revolutionary product for the time: Multi-vitamins.
- At one time NSA sold nearly 1/3 of all water filters purchased in North America.
- PrePaid legal revolutionized access of common folks like us to legal services.
- AL Williams (now Primerica) taught America the benefit of term life insurance, and in the process grew to be largest insurance company in America.
Speaking of AL Williams, Art Williams once said of his early days going up against the insurance lobby: "Every morning, the first thing I asked for was copies of the negative newspaper stories. Virtually everyday someone was calling us a pyramid or saying our product was a fraud."Sound familiar?
That's right: BioPerformance is facing the same opposition AL Williams faced, and for many of the same reasons.
Thank You
I've received a huge amount of e-mails and letters wishing us well, asking what you can do. And again I want to thank every one of you who has stayed the course with me and with BioPerformance. I promise you: I will continue to represent your Company with every resource available to me.
Yours in Staying the Course,Lowell Mims

Abbott Shuts Down Dallas-based Bioperformance For Peddling Fake Fuel Pills In Pyramid Scheme
Claims of increased gas mileage to save consumers money called bogus
Wednesday, May 17, 2006
AUSTIN - Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott today filed a lawsuit and obtained a temporary restraining order and asset freeze against Texas-based BioPerformance Inc. The company, organized as an illegal pyramid scheme, markets a fuel pill it falsely claims will boost gas mileage and save consumers money.BioPerformance Inc., president and owner Lowell Mims and co-owner Gustavo Romero of Irving advertise nationally via the Internet and through seminars around Texas and other states, exploiting the climate of today’s high fuel prices. The company’s ads claim the gasoline pills and powders they offer have a non-toxic “top secret gas pill” that can increase fuel efficiency by 30 percent or more and cut harmful emissions by up to 50 percent. In fact, the additive is basically the chemical equivalent of mothballs, which are toxic.
Legitimate multi-level marketing businesses pay commissions based on the sale of goods and services, while illegal pyramids, which the Attorney General alleges BioPerformance is, pay commissions based mainly on the recruitment of people to the organization.Consumers are encouraged to become “dealers” at the various dazzling seminars BioPerformance sponsors around the country, at start-up costs of between $300 to over $500. Members can participate at various levels of “business volume” sales, but ultimately the plan functions on the basis of how many others a member can recruit to become dealers, which is by definition a pyramid scheme. On its Web site the company boasts almost 4,500 Texas members with $25 million in sales since December.
The Attorney General’s lawsuit alleges violations of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and the promotion of an illegal pyramid scheme, which can result in penalties of $20,000 per violation. The suit requests restitution to consumers who have been financially harmed by the false promises of this operation. These false income promotions include slick Web site come-ons for new sports cars, mansions and exclusive vacations “just for helping Americans save money on gas.”The Attorney General’s scientific expert also found that the chemical compound used in these pills can be harmful to humans. Short-term exposure to naphthalene by humans via inhalation, ingestion or skin contact can result in anemia and neurological or liver damage.
Consumers who encounter a business that is making false claims or appears to be operating as a pyramid scheme may file a complaint with the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division at (800) 252-8011 or file a complaint online at www.oag.state.tx.us
BioPerformance Investigation
The gas pill almost seems to have a cult following, WESH 2 News reported.
"Is this too good to be true? Are you running interference?" WESH 2 I-Team reporter Michelle Meredith asked the company's president, as he brushed by her.
The pill inspires hundreds of wannabe millionaires to sing.
"And I'm proud to be an American," the group sang out.
According to BioPerformance, the company that sells the little green pill, drivers can just throw a couple in their gas tank and they'll see up to a 25 percent increase in their gas mileage.
With the price of fuel climbing higher and higher, who wouldn't want to squeeze another five miles out of every gallon? The appeal of the little green pill is mind-boggling. But what's really mind-boggling is the way the pill is sold. You won't find it on store shelves.
"We were going to develop the biggest and best network marketing company this industry has ever seen," BioPerformance president Lowell Mims said.
They're available only through multilevel marketing. Meet the unlikely company president. Mims is a pastor out of Dallas, and a multilevel marketing veteran.
"We knew it was going to be huge. Everybody say, 'Huge! Huge!'" he said.
Recently, when BioPerformance held a big pep rally in Orlando, the WESH 2 I-Team went undercover.
And Meredith said she can honestly say that she's never seen a happier, more excited bunch of people.
"Everybody say, 'I'm ready. I'm ready,'" Mims told the crowd.
They're excited because they believe in their product. From Orlando, Liz and Rocky Rothwell are on board.
"(What) the pill is doing to the gasoline is allowing more energy to get out so that you get better gas mileage," Liz Rothwell said.
"They're not schemers. They're very, very truthful people," Rocky Rothwell said.
Testimonials flowed like manna from heaven. In fact, the whole weekend had a religious feel. To hear them talk, the little green pill is the perfect package. They said it can save you money, save the planet, keeps money out of the Saudi's hands and it's "All American."
More importantly, they said they believe the product can make them millionaires. In fact, Mims' goal is to help 1,000 people become millionaires this year.
BioPerformance said the company is completely legit and talk openly about it in a presentation they call the "American Dream or Pyramid Scheme?"
But when Meredith approached Mims for an interview, he wasn't so open.
"Can I ask you some questions?" Meredith asked.
"You have to get a disclosure form, a disclosure form you have to fill out with Doc Fog, but thank you," he said.
In fact, Mims couldn't get away from her fast enough.
"For hours, we've been hearing you have nothing to hide. So, why can't you talk to me right now?" she said.
"We have to legally make sure everything is covered so you all won't hurt our company," Mims said.
One of his followers even acted as his bodyguard and stopped Meredith from getting on the escalator.
"You're going to block me?" she said.
Meredith tried talking to other BioPerformance heavyweights.
"This is an interview?" one person asked.
"Yes," Meredith said.
"No thanks. I got to go. I got a dinner thing going on right now," he said.
She felt as about welcome as a wet dog at a wedding.
"I have to say, for a company that says they have nothing to hide, everyone walks away from us," Meredith said.
Why are they running? Maybe the answer is printed on the bottle. In tiny print is a bizarre disclaimer. "BioPerformance, Inc., doesn't guarantee anyone any results," it says.
Little Green Pill Put To Test
So to get to the bottom of the little green pill, we enlisted the help of two experts at the University of Central Florida. Dr. Kevin Belfield, the head of chemistry department, was brought on board to find out what's in the pill.
And to find out if the little green pill works, we recruited Dr. Bob Hoekstra. His lab at UCF tests race car engines.
Hoekstra's plan was very straightforward. We took our car to a shop called KDK Performance and strapped our minivan to what's essentially a treadmill for cars.
Hoekstra put in a very measured amount of plain old regular unleaded gas, and then ran the engine at approximately 70 mph. We did this over and over again until we got a baseline. The minivan runs out of gas after about 10 minutes.
To prove BioPerformance's claim, the little green pill needs to run that motor 25 percent longer.
"We should go about 12 ½ minutes," Hoekstra said.
But there's a catch. Before we can test the little green pill, first, we have to feed our minivan a bunch of pills, according to the directions you get online. You are supposed to give your car a "boostershot" -- feed your gas tank double the number of pills normally needed.
So before we see any results, we need to burn four tanks of gas.
While we're burning those miles, Dr. Belfield and his UCF students made an interesting discovery.
''It smells like mothballs," Meredith said.
Decades ago, mothballs were made of a chemical called naphthalene. So they tested the pill, and bingo.
''Naphthalene?" Meredith asked.
"Naphthalene. That's right," Belfield said.
It's almost 100 percent; the rest is coloring.
"You have a little graph and everything?" Meredith asked Belfield.
On his graph, a red line represented the chemical naphthalene, and a black line represented the little green pill. They matched.
"The two spectra are identical," Belfield said.
What's more, on the bottle, BioPerformance claims the little green pill is "non toxic" but naphthalene is toxic. In fact, decades ago, children died after eating mothballs made of naphthalene. It even has links to cancer.
"One can inhale it, one can ingest it and one can have it absorbed through the skin, and those all very detrimental effects," Belfield said.
One thousand miles later, we were back on the treadmill. Hoekstra crushed a little green pill, dissolved it in the gas and then poured the same measured amount in the minivan time and time again.
We came out with basically the same results as before.
"There is no difference in mileage whatsoever," Hoekstra said.
The little green pill was a bust.
"Bottom line?" Meredith asked Hoekstra.
"You're throwing your money away," he said. "It simply does not work."
Maybe that's why the president of BioPerformance is a man on the run. He's a man who runs from reporters who question the little green pill.
"Is this too good to be true? Are you running interference?" Meredith asked him.
"We have to protect ourselves. Like Barbara Bush says, we have to watch you all like the plague," Mims said.
During the gas crisis of the 1970s, some people put mothballs in their tanks to try and save money, and it did not work then and it does not work now.
Something else that does not work are the phones at BioPerformance. Every number Meredith called was either disconnected or went right to voicemail.

Adsense Craze and MLM
"Make $19,000 a Month with Adsense" ,
"Make Money OnlineI made $16,000 online last month. You don't even need a website. GoogleProfits",
"$48,631 Adsense SecretScot and Jim show you the keywordsto earn $48k in 1 month, just $57!Keywordlanche.com"
"Adsense Money SecretsHow to make $33,000 per month withAdsense ads! Download Instantly"
Is it true? Can you really make that kind of money? Perhaps. I use adense and it does bring it a bit of money. Nothing like those numbers though.
Building a business with Adsense is like building a house on sand. Its great for a while, but someday it's going to shift with the sand. Lets say you work your tail off, stop doing MLM and concentrate on Adsense. Suddenly your Adsense business is bringing you some real cash each month and your MLM business is bringing you nothing. You are fat and happy with that nice juicy check.
One day you wake up to check your daily income from Adsense which is decent and you find that, it is almost zero. You can't believe your eyes! What happened. You start checking your empire of 1,200 websites and yes, they are up and running, but no ads are showing up. Google just changed the rules and knocked you out of the game. Your income as great, but now it's nothing and you are in big trouble because you bought that new Mercedes based on Adsense income. It can happen and has happened to some people.
Best advise. Stick to your MLM if that is what you are doing and build your income with that. If you've picked a good company the chance that they will suddenly change or go out of business is small. I will admit that the MLM could go bust too, that has also happened to people, but it's much less likely to happen than the former.
Getting back to the Google craze. Do you know who is making the money now? The people promoting the Google craze. They have quietly made money from Google when it was first out and some have made TONS of cash. Now that it's out of the bag, they see that it could end and are building a business of selling their experience or have a software tool to create Adsense sites to sell. Some of these services are $14,000 , some are $197, $297 a month! Membership websites selling Google Adsense information are charging $97 a month. I wonder who is making the real money now?
Carlton Sheets made some money in real estate, but he made a whole lot more selling his course on how he did it. It's the same principal.

BioPerformance "Gas Pill"
Claims like this have come and gone for years. If there was such a "powder or pill" that could improve gas mileage don't you think someone big would already be marketing it? Don't you think we could just run down to NAPA and get some?
Everyone is hot to save money on gasoline right now and this fits nicely with their greed glands as well. Make money with something everyone needs. Does it work? Most distributors won't care, they just want to sell it and retire. If they make enough money the cost of gas won't matter a lick.
The real answer to our gas problem is not found in making existing gasoline engines burn less gas but in making us use different fuel to power our cars. The fact that this is MLM just smacks of scarey.
Rebuttals I'm sure will challenge me to use it and get better mileage, but I'm not about to put up money for the test. If a distributor wants to supply me with enough of the stuff to do a proper test, and it works, I'll eat my words and put in a good word for your stuff.

al Vacations Members Now Earn $3000 and $1000 Checks Before First Training Sale
(PRWEB via PR Web Direct) April 21, 2006 -- Aided by the maximum support provided to them, new Coastal Vacations members are now earning $3000 and $1000 commissions before they complete their first training sale. The maximum support provided by Coastal Vacations' fastest growing and largest group and the revolutionary "fast cash" pay plan are a winning combination that is knocking out the competition. The Coastal Vacations Sales Center's "fast cash" pay plan is getting rave reviews from expert network marketers and novices. The ability to earn immediate commissions allows new members to reinvest a portion of their earnings back into their business quickly, allowing them to produce even more income faster. Coastal Vacations Director Dean Marino hosts member training and Discovery Q&A calls for the largest and fastest growing group in the Coastal community. He explained why his group's pay plan was producing so many more sales. "Our members can earn commissions of $3000 or $1000 on their very first sale. Contrast that with the traditional pay plan where new members must pass their first 2 sales up to their sponsor before they have the opportunity to earn a dime."Marino understands the criticism he is hearing from those who work the traditional business model. "The dirty little truth is that in any traditional home based business 95% of those who get started never earn a check. Under the traditional pay plan, new members may be able to bring a friend or relative into the business as their first training sale before they realize it is much harder to convince strangers to join. Traditional sponsors have grown accustomed to the additional income those training sales bring before their new members realize they can't sell to strangers and give up. We were able to offer the improved pay plan because our members can produce more sales, faster with our simple, duplicatable, no selling system. Simply put, our members are able to produce sales even if they lack sales skills."Marino, a California based Level 3 Director, explained that some sponsors go as far as trying to convince would-be members that sales skills are not required to have success in the traditional business. However, that propaganda is hard to swallow for those that do the proper research.Prospective Coastal Vacations members can easily find evidence that the traditional business model will require them to learn selling techniques. Three of the four speakers under contract to teach at a major Coastal conference in Orlando this September are sales trainers. They are Todd Falcone, Doug Firebaugh, and Tom Goetschius. The fourth speaker, Gary Coxe, will help members overcome the fear of cold calling. Sales techniques are a major part of training calls conducted by the Board of Directors and the Coastal Synergy Group. In fact, the latter is conducting sales training events in Illinois and Pennsylvania this year, and has even conducted a training call for their members with master sales trainer Zig Ziglar. Yet another group has scheduled sales training with Dani Johnson. Coastal Vacations has explained for years that their members are in direct sales, not MLM members. Peruse books on network marketing at your local bookstore. They are loaded with sales techniques. Members working the traditional business will eventually need to ask for as much as $11,000 in exchange for their product. In sales jargon that is called asking for the sale and success often requires asking more than once. The art of knowing when and how to ask is called closing.A major part of the success members have with the Sales Center, is that they never have to ask for, and collect the money themselves. The Sales Center recognized that most people are not good at selling and have no desire to learn the techniques required to improve their skills. Their system does not require members to learn selling techniques to have success. However, those who have had selling success with the traditional business, report that profits more than doubled with the maximum support system. Now, Sales Center members are earning $3000 and $1000 commissions even before they have completed a single training sale. For more information about Dean Marino's fastest growing and largest group in the Coastal community as well as the maximum support he provides, and the "fast cash" Pay plan go to www.coastalpassiveincome.com.

The Shocking Truth - 7 Myths of MLM Email Lead Companies
Anyone starting a Multi-Level Marketing business or any type of home business will need a lead company to provide targeted prospects for your business. One thing you need to ask yourself is how they generate the leads. Good companies will generate potential contacts through a range of methods.
Today, lead generating companies use the internet along with telemarketing, ad campaigns, and direct mail campaigns. They will then use a software program to provide you with business opportunity leads that fit your business.
I personally have been in network marketing business for over 10 years and know how deep the shark infested waters of bad lead companies that over promise and under deliver. There are 7 Myths about mlm email leads and the companies that provide these services that you should be aware of and avoid when choosing a lead company.
Myth 1 "We will give you 50 FREE Leads to try out with no obligation"
Many companies will offer you free leads to try out their service. First, the leads that you get are not very good, responsive, and often more than 72 hours old which means the leads are not "hot but "cold". Secondly, and more importantly, when you sign up to get the free leads, you just became a lead.
Myth 2 "We generate our own leads"
This is false. 90% of lead companies do not generate their own leads but purchase their own. They in turn resell them to you. These leads have been "turned" so to speak anywhere from 5-10 times. Your response rate will be significantly lower because of this important factor. Myth 3 "Our leads are Targeted Leads to your home business specialty"
One of the ways to "capture" a lead is to put up what we consider a "pop-up" window on a website that might be asking you if you want more information on a "credit card offer". Then that company turns to any lead company and sells it. Now if you have a home business and looking for people who are interested in starting a home business, you go to Lead Company A and buy some mlm email leads. You will get leads from people who wanted information on credit card offers, not a home business. Is that targeted? What are your chances of converting a sale? Slim to none.
Myth 4 "Our Leads are 24 Hours old or less and "fresh".
90% of leads sold are over 24 hours old if that fresh. The reason is modern technology, detailed work, time spent to gather the leads captured, and to upload them to you through an excel spreadsheet or other form of communication takes time. Make sure you read all the details about how the company obtained the mlm email lead in the first place.
Myth 5 "Leads were not offered an incentive".
Lead companies will tell you this so that you don't think the lead was offered any payment or free gift for filling out a survey. Most lead companies fail to disclose this. Make sure you do the research and ask questions of the company before you purchase the leads.
Myth 6 "Leads are Company Specific"
Many lead companies indicate to consumers that their mlm email leads are company specific. For example a website has a "popup" window if someone is interested in a earning money part time and they turn around and sell you the leads because they are interested in SFI (Six Figure Marketing) a popular home business opportunity on the internet. Does that mean its company specific? No where does it say that person who filled out the form and became a lead they were interested in that specific company.
Myth 7 "Millions of people are looking for a home business"
There are not millions of people looking for a home business. There are thousands everyday but not millions. If a lead company tells you that....they are stretching the truth just a bit.
Now that you know what NOT to look for: Here is a summary of how to be successful with your mlm email lead:
1. The quality of the lead source is only one factor...important but not the only thing to consider. You as a contributor are just as important. You are the determiner of the real success with any lead source. That's why peoples experiences can vary so much.
2. Success with leads is mostly about numbers, time, & "your" effort. Sufficient numbers, followed consistently over time (minimum of 3-6 months), & applying a disciplined method of follow-up emails will show results with most any lead source and a very good autoresponder. I use GetResponse to follow up with all of my leads. The best leads in the world are no good if you dont have a quality email series or a reliable autoresponder in place or a to follow up.
3. A quality generic lead source is a good thing (must be pre-qualified, 48 hrs old or less, non-shared, & exclusive to warrant quality label). Company specific leads are even a better option. Generating quality leads yourself is the best way. Doing all 3 in unison is the best campaign you can have to be successful. Everything else is a waste.
In conclusion, using the techniques and advice described above, your mlm email lead campaign can bring the fruits of success, with a good follow-up program in place, a reliable autoresponder, personal perseverance, and avoiding the lead companies that offer more "fluff" and "flash" than real, fresh, responsive leads.

Advertisers Draw Fire for Undercover Marketing
Thursday, 13 April 2006, 10:21 amPress Release: Chris Tinney Advertisers Draw Fire for Using Undercover Marketing Tactics
As advertising has become advertising ad nauseam, and we are forever being pitched to, marketed to, and appealed to by someone trying to sell us something more advertisers are looking at new ways to deliver their message to you. This has resulted in a mix of marketing tactics that are drawing fire. Some are new versions of old techniques and some are very new. Consider that many advertisers are already paying your friends or in some cases even hiring actors to strategically engage you in their product- with or without your knowledge.
(PRWEB) December 4, 2005 -- As advertising has become advertising ad nauseam, and we are forever being pitched to, marketed to, and appealed to by someone trying to sell us something more advertisers are looking at new ways to deliver their message to you. This has resulted in a mix of marketing tactics that are drawing fire. Some are new versions of old techniques and some are very new. Consider that many advertisers are already paying your friends or in some cases even hiring actors to strategically engage you in their product- with or without your knowledge.
If the current trends hold true it’s almost certain that you’ll be the target of “undercover” or “referral marketing” as more companies use undercover marketing and more of your friends will start trying to make a few extra bucks referring people to the products that offer them commissions for making those referrals.
Undercover Marketing
Whether you like it or not, undercover marketing is here to stay. Whether you know it or not, it may already be a part of your life.
Consider this. The last time a friendly tourist asked you to take their picture with an impressive new camera or an attractive woman at the bar said you could buy her a drink; they both may have been “working”. These are examples of what is being called Undercover Marketing. In these examples the company paid people to pose as tourists or bar patrons respectively. The “tourists” job was to show as many people as possible all the features of a new camera that Sony coming out with. The models were paid to look good of course, but you won’t see them holding anything but a Sky Vodka. Not when their “working” anyway.
One of the larger companies in this industry is Big Phat Promotions. They’ve drawn both protest and attention for their unique marketing practices that they now employ in 30 cities across the United States and Canada. The company defends their tactics as "spontaneous" and "virile" approaches to product promotion. Critics however, argue that paying actors to target consumers in these settings is unethical.
Even over seas the New South Wales government has enacted legislation preventing tobacco companies from using similar undercover marketing practices.
Adam Salacuse, CEO and President of Alt Terrain, LLC, a Boston-based agency specializing in alternative promotion services, stresses undercover campaigns should only be used in conjunction with larger, more traditional advertising campaigns. "It is always best to be honest with people and if used properly, alternative marketing can be a unique and relevant experience that the consumer will always remember."
Gary McCarron, Asst. Communications Professor at Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, says the public is already immune to most mainstream advertising and new research indicates that advertising that doesn't seem like advertising, is the new way to reach our jaded minds.
McCarron warns that if advertising becomes so sneaky that it is unrecognizable from the everyday experiences of defenseless consumers, it will damage corporate credibility and the resulting state of distrust could have an extremely negative effect on social interaction.
Referral or Network Marketing
Do the words MLM, Network Marketing or multi-level-marketing ring a bell? These words all describe companies that pay you commissions for referring people to their products.
MLM or Network Marketing is back. The MLM Direct Selling Associate now reports that nearly 75% of all Americans have now used or been presented with a product from a Network Marketing company. The most well known, International, Network Marketing Companies are Amway (now Quixtar), Mary Kay and Life Force International.
The allure of Network Marketing or MLM to consumers is the massive amounts of money that some in the industry claim to make. These companies pay you a commission on all the products you sell. They also pay you commissions on the products that anyone you refer to the company, sells. If the people you refer refer others, you earn commissions on the purchases of those people too.
Sound like a pyramid? There’s a difference. Really. Network Marketing has exploded in the last 20 years since Amway fought their landmark case making and distinguishing the MLM or multi-level commission structure as legal and separate from a illegal pyramid structures.
MLM or Network Marketing companies offer you and your friends of course, commissions for referring people to their products. These companies now sell every kind of product you can imagine.
Marketing expert Chris Tinney is the founder of Best MLM Business (www.BestMLMBusiness.com) and MLM Forums (www.MLMForums.com) and eBusiness Bonanza (http://ebusinessbonanza.com) says many in his industry used undercover marketing in the past but have found parts of it turned the public off, “Too many people have memories of going somewhere with a friend only to be surprised to find themselves front and center at an opportunity meeting for some kind of home based business.”
He says Network Marketing still teaches people to go into social settings to pitch their products, however, they’ve learned it works much better if you’re up front about whom you are and what you’re doing. Tinney claims that if a marketer has to lie they’ve already made a mistake in choosing the social setting. He says this is the most important step. Once in that setting he says to be upfront about the product you represent.
Tinney claims that by being in places where people are predisposed to want your products and being “upfront” about it, that they'll approach the marketer and initiate the interaction. He claims this is much different than what the public perceives as undercover marketing.
As competition to reach consumers increase undercover and referral based marketing is sure to become more and more a part of our lives. The challenge will be for marketers to use these tactics in such a way that the don’t alienate the very consumers they’re hoping to win over.

Is MLM a Scam?
Is MLM a Scam? There are many websites dedicated to calling MLM ( Multi-level Marketing ) a scam. Is it true?
Let's explore the definition of "scam" From answers.com I found this definition: A fraudulent business scheme; a swindle
Are there some companies that pay a multi-level commission that are fraudulent? Yes. Are there companies that pay a multi-level commission that are ligitimate? Yes.
If it is said that MLM is a scam, that means that all MLM is a scam. Blanket statements like that are about as valid as saying all fat people are stupid. Since there is at least one honest company in the world that pays a multi-level commission then by definition MLM is not a scam.
I believe that people who dedicate their lives and energy to ripping apart multi-level marketing are those who have gotten hurt and are seeking revenge. You don't find many successful MLM distributors that are ripping on MLM. Those that rip on MLM are those that failed. Plain and simple. They are trying to warn the world that MLM is a scam, but what they are really projecting is "Hey look, I failed at network marketing and I'm blaming everyone else" Further they imply "and I don't want you to try because if you succeed I'll look like an idiot".
Entire sites are dedicated to warning people about the dangers of Amway. That's the biggest MLM company and the biggest target. While it's true that many distributors hype the chances of success, you can't fault the company or say MLM doesn't work. There are too many Amway millionaires to discount it. Amway has made its founders billionaires and they are in business today and as healthy as ever. Scams don't get that big or last that long.
Anyone who calls MLM a scam is a loser, plain and simple. How's that for a blanket statement? Intelligent people after failing at MLM would say " I didn't have the skills needed to make it work" or , "truthfully I didn't put in my best effort" or even "that company didn't have the right program".
Next time you see a site calling MLM a scam, or someone spouting their view that all MLM is a scam, you are seeing a failure in action.

Could You Succeed in a Home-Based Business?
Amway China Formally Applies for Direct Selling License

(SinoCast via COMTEX) --US-based Amway Corp., a world's leader in multilevel marketing, confirms that its subsidiary in China has formally applied to the Ministry of Commerce of China for a license of direct selling.Insiders at Amway China reveal that the company has over 7,000 outlets in near 2,000 counties and cities around China and the preparation for the direct selling has finished. Gan Chee Eng, vice president of Amway China, previously released that the company just hoped to get the license before the end of November 2006.According to the requirements of MOC, Amway and other nine foreign companies that should transform their business model in China are allowed to continue their traditional business model before December 1, 2006.Ahead of Amway China, there are a few foreign companies have submitted their applications for direct selling licenses to MOC but the ministry just granted one to Avon China by far. From Jinghua Times, Page 1, Thursday, April 06, 2006info@SinoCast.Com
Dick De Vos runs for Governor of Michigan
Dick De Vos runs for Governor of Michigan.
The son of Amway co-founder Rich DeVos is running for Governor of Michigan against Governor Jennifer Granholm. DeVos is running as a Republican
What makes this story interesting to me is the net worth of Dick De Vos. He is one of the richest people to run for public office. Forbes estimated is net worth between $500 million and $3 Billion dollars. Not bad for the son of a co-founder. ( who said there is no money in MLM anway?) Of course the Waltons make him look like a pauper. They started Wal-Mart and everyone in that family seems to be worth around $20 billion.
Why anyone with vast wealth would want to be in public office is beyond me, but so be it. If he wants the job, best wishes to him.
Can you Make Money in MLM?

There are people making $500,000 a month in MLM or network marketing. Plenty of others are making $300,000 a year and more. Can you do that?
Perhaps, but the odds are against you. The average distributor for any company doesn't make enough to cover their costs let alone create real wealth.
Only the dedicated "go getters" can create wealth.
Unfortunately most people are lazy and they hope to sign up with a network marketing company and do nothing yet bring in big bucks. Still others hope to join and spend nothing at all to aquire downline and customers yet expect to make a bundle. Sorry folks, MLM is a business just like any other. The start up costs are small, but you should still dedicate time and most importantly "money" to getting your venture off the ground. You can't expect to skate by with no out of pocket expenses for marketing. It's just reality. The more you put in the more you'll get out.
Be prepared to lose money for a few years while you build your base. You can't expect to live off your efforts and if you do, you'll kill the goose. Plan to plow all of your profits back into marketing and get a large downline base. In a few years you'll be successful and have all the money you want. Only then should you kick back and enjoy your lifestyle. Until then it's work work work.
Sorry to disappoint those who would like to do nothing and get rich. The only advise I have for you is to keep buying lottery tickets and hope.
MLM Resources

You can find a lot of MLM resources on OnlineMLM.com ( http://www.onlinemlm.com ) specifically in their Recommended Links area.
Resources for MLM are vast and new ones come and go almost daily. Some are good, some are bad. You just have to weed out those that are useful to you.

Network Marketing is MLM is Multilevel
I can see why they want to distance themselves from those terms. In the past much fraud has been committed by companies called MLM companies. It has gotten a bad name. Here is my take on it: If you are paying commissions on more than one level, that is multi-level. If you are marketing a product, that is marketing. Put those together and you have, surprise, multi-level marketing.
Distributors of some companies are brainwashed to believe they are "Referral Marketing" and not MLM. Ok.. look, they pay a multi-level commission, they refer others, which is networking. Who are they trying to fool? These folks are so entrenched that I've gotten into arguments about calling them network marketers. They don't even like the term "distributor".
It doesn't really hurt anything to call them as they wish to be called. We all can refer to them as "referral marketers" , and wink wink, we know what that means.

Coastal Vacations Level 3 Director Jay NaPier Finds Home Business Success Is All About Your Passion and Your System
Finding homebased business success can be a challenge when you consider the many options available today. Yardsale finds, online ebooks and network marketing opportunities can be found almost everywhere yet so few really know how to choose the right business for them. True success begins with your own passion.
The next thing you need is a system. All successful businesses have a system. Franchises have been successful because they offer entrepreneurs a system designed for success.
Former franchise owner Jay NaPier provides insight for potential homebased business owners; "First you've got to find your passion. In my case, it is travel. I've always loved traveling. I would take frequent trips from Cincinnati to Nashville as a 17 year old. Today, I find my travel passion allows me to make my vocation a vacation. as Mark Twain ounce said "The secret of success is making your vocation your vacations." In my case I have. I take my business with me everywhere. I can work my business on a beach in Hawaii or a cabin in the Great Smokey Mountains."

MLMScamZone.com Has Found The Key To Legitimate MLM, for Scam-Free Business Successes
After years of research and thousands of dollars, MLMScamZone.com has cut through the scams masquerading as lawful networking, and has discovered the single most successful, legitimate MLM business opportunity
(PRWEB) April 6, 2006 -- MLMScamZone.com is proud to announce the results of its lengthy research into so-called MLM companies, and has discovered the single most beneficial MLM opportunity on the web for legitimate earnings that can lead to substantial successes.
After repeated failures in the MLM industry, the MLM Success Team that comprises MLMScamZone.com decided to take a new tack. This effort involved a great deal of investigation and thousands of dollars in order to explore as many of the MLM “opportunities” offered over the internet as could be found. Essentially, trial-and-error, education, and simple common sense, one MLM business was found to stand out above the rest.
This single MLM opportunity was discovered to have the highest potential for earnings and successes, without any scams or hidden chances for failure that aren’t visible upon initial registration.
MLMScamZone.com is the creation of Shane Woods who had, himself, fallen victim to a number of wolves in sheep’s clothing; MLM companies that appeared to be good opportunities when they were instead scams or simply bad deals. Mr. Woods was frustrated after several failures, even when the best sales and marketing techniques were used. He continued to educate himself about all of the best techniques and strategies for MLM success, but finally concluded that it wasn’t him leading to the lack of income generation. His low earnings were the direct result of MLM scams. He knew, though, that MLM remains a legitimate, lawful business opportunity that should be able to provide him with an income as long as he had the right marketing techniques and put in the effort required. And so, MLMScamZone.com was created, allowing him to discover that MLM opportunity that he knew was out there somewhere.
Today, Shane Woods is proud to be able to share this meaningful discovery with other prospective entrepreneurs who are tired of falling victim to scams or too nervous to get into MLM because of the number of scams that are out there. Shane’s http://www.mlmscamzone.com opens up all of his research and efforts for all motivated individuals to use and from which they may all profit.
